The Beauty of Handmade Furniture Comes to North Gate!
HANK GILPIN
November 9th, 2:00 p.m.
North Gate Toll House
1873 Old Louisquisset Pike (Rt 246)
Lincoln, RI 02865
Free and open to the public.
For over 40 years, Hank Gilpin has designed and made beautiful furniture using domestic hardwoods. Come enjoy images of some of his finest hand-crafted pieces. He also is a landscape artist, and will show examples of this work, also.
Hank Gilpin graduated from Boston University with a degree in photojournalism, but, a chance elective at Rhode Island School of Design led to his chosen profession of woodworking. He works exclusively in solid wood to hand-tool his masterpieces.
Gilpin’s work was featured in New American Furniture at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, in 1989, the show that established studio furniture nationally.
Come for an afternoon of beautiful, and useful artwork by one of the Blackstone Valley’s master artists.
How do I get onto the Blackstone Valley Reminiscent Society site?
I am looking for a video by Chris Adams of the Blue Eagle Inn, the posting date is Aug. 23
Thank you!
I tried doing this from a facebook page, but did not work.
They only seem to have a Facebook Group. Here is the link:

Engineering Cornell University 1996 Dixon Brothers Woodworking Boston, MA Hank Gilpin Furnituremaker Lincoln, RI Anglewright Woodworking Providence, RI Architectural Illusions Boston, MA I enjoyed building things growing up – school projects, working around the house with my father, etc. This led to an interest in woodworking. It took a few years, and a slog through an engineering degree, to come around to woodworking and design as a profession. But it happened with inspiration from a handful of sources, one being Rhode Island furniture maker Hank Gilpin, for whom I worked as an apprentice.
